Are You READY for 2020 – You Don’t Have to be an Extrovert to Succeed in Business

Coffee and bagels are provided compliments of LBMC.

Guest Speaker:  Dan Aronoff, FranNet of Middle and West Tennessee

Presentation:
In the business world it’s a common belief that to get ahead an individual needs to be gregarious and extroverted. So if we aren’t, are we doomed to second-class citizenship always looking up (and maybe even being envious) to those that seem to shine in any situation? The good news is that plenty of self-proclaimed introverts have succeeded as business leaders and entrepreneurs.

In this presentation we’ll cover:
– Common misconceptions of extroverts and introverts
– Tips and techniques to overcome introvertedness
– How to embrace and leverage everything that is good about being an introvert
– Review different models and strategies to fit an introvert’s personality when exploring business ownership

About the speaker:
Dan has over 25 years of business experience working for both small and large companies, most notably in the human resources arena. He had the opportunity to work with Exxon Corporation, Kraft Foods, Kendle International (a pharmaceutical clinical trials organization) and his family’s business, Goldner Associates, which is an advertising specialties company. In 2005 he fulfilled a lifelong dream of entrepreneurship by becoming a franchisee with FranNet, a franchise matchmaking service. Dan taught Franchise Management to students in the School of Entrepreneurship at Belmont University in the Fall of 2011. Since 2006, he has also facilitated the Transition Café, a networking event for senior level professionals and executives in career transition.

Dan graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Indiana University and earned a Masters degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois.

FENG Nashville Chapter

Welcome to the Nashville Chapter of FENG, the Financial Executives Networking Group.  Our goal is to be the premier networking resource for finance executives in the Greater Nashville Area. We provide ongoing career management services and a forum for financial executive networking, as well as helping our members with job search and transition support through the distribution of a large number of Middle Tennessee area job postings.

Nashville FENG members benefit directly from the support available from the National FENG organization. The national group provides a daily newsletter, including a featured editorial article of topical interest to financial execs, announcements and Q&A from members, and senior level financial job postings around the world. Social networking and internet connectivity have made professional networking an even more powerful career management tool. It is a time-tested method, providing the single best source of business and job opportunities. The ties among our members, and between our members and those of the other chapters around the country, are many and frequent.

With rare exceptions, we meet the third Tuesday of each month, at 7:15-8:45 a.m. at the offices of LBMC at LBMC Financial Center (201 Franklin Road in Brentwood, TN). Meetings begin with 15 minutes of networking, followed by personal introductions and a guest speaker(s) on a timely topic of interest.
